Rediscover Landshut's Old Town: History that Comes to Life in the Cityscape
On November 5, 2026, the city tour The Old Town in a Different Way - Insights into History invites you to a special discovery experience through Landshut. Under the guidance of former and long-time city archive director Gerhard Tausche, the view of the Old Town opens up as a historical memory space filled with stories, traces, and surprising connections.
In the Footsteps of the Past
From the meeting point at Rathaus 1 in the Old Town, the event leads into the historic center of Landshut. Gerhard Tausche combines his many years of experience with solid knowledge of local history and provides insights into the past of this central place. Architecture, cityscape, and recorded events become tangible testimonies of the cultural heritage.
A City Tour for Everyone
The tour is part of the series Culture for All and is aimed at people with and without disabilities. A sign language interpreter accompanies the tour and translates live into German sign language. Questions during the city tour are explicitly welcome and create space for exchange, personal perspectives, and collective learning.
Historical Knowledge with a Personal Touch
As a former director of the city archive, Gerhard Tausche knows the historical connections of the city from a special professional perspective. His tour makes local history vivid and shows the Landshut Old Town not just as a sight to see, but as an evolved living space where past and present meet.
Conclusion: See Landshut with New Eyes
This inclusive city tour promises a cultural enrichment for all who want to get to know Landshut more intensively. Those who wish to discover hidden historical references, ask questions, and experience the Old Town from a new perspective will find the right occasion for a joint walk on November 5, 2026.
