Johnny Campbell brings northern English folk live to Landshut
On Wednesday, January 27, 2027, the Rocketclub Landshut will transform into an intense meeting point for folk fans: In the concert series “Free and Indoors”, Johnny Campbell presents songs from his new album As The Bracken Dance as well as older pieces and traditional songs from Northern England. Admission is free.
Between Landscape, Closeness, and Alienation
Johnny Campbell focuses on the relationship of humans to their environment and to other people. The new songs revolve around connection and alienation from the landscape and from each other. His music combines personal observation with the storytelling tradition of northern English folk and creates space for thoughtful, immediate moments.
New Songs and Old Traditions
The focus of the evening will be on pieces already presented live from As The Bracken Dance, which is set to be released in February 2027. The program will be complemented by older songs and traditional music from Northern England. This creates a concert evening that blends contemporary songwriting, acoustic folk atmosphere, and musical memory culture.
Folk with Extensive Stage Experience
Since 2015, Johnny Campbell has been writing his own material and delving deep into northern English folk songs and their history. During this time, he has released three albums and two singles. More than 500 performances have taken him across Great Britain, the USA, and Europe, shaping his stage presence with direct audience engagement and continuous touring experience.
Live Atmosphere in the Rocketclub
The Rocketclub Landshut offers the right setting for this folk evening. The intimate club atmosphere brings voice, rhythm, and narrative song structure close to the audience. Between focused listening, warm acoustics, and a shared audience vibe, a concert experience emerges that makes the musical images of landscape and belonging directly tangible.
Admission, Start, and Free Entry
Admission begins at 7:00 PM, the concert starts at 8:00 PM and is expected to end at 10:00 PM. Admission is free. The concert series is supported by Sparkasse Landshut.
