Landshut Symphony Orchestra delights with Beethoven and Carla Usberti

Symphonic Sound Magnificence in the Town Hall Festive Hall

On October 24, 2026, the Landshut Symphony Orchestra invites you to a festive concert evening in the historic Town Hall Festive Hall. The program features works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Anton Hoffmeister, and Sergei Prokofiev – a varied arc between dramatic overture, virtuosic viola literature, and symphonic color diversity.

Beethoven opens the evening with dramatic energy

The concert begins powerfully and charged with tension with the Egmont Overture op. 84 by Ludwig van Beethoven. Striking rhythms, strong dynamic contrasts, and a concise orchestral dramaturgy condense into a gripping start. The music connects political expressiveness with Beethoven's unmistakable stage effect.

Carla Usberti returns as soloist to Landshut

A special highlight is Franz Anton Hoffmeister's Viola Concerto in D major with Carla Usberti. The violist, born in 2001 in Landshut, received her first national awards at Jugend musiziert, won third prize at the International Hindemith Viola Competition in 2021, and was awarded first prize as well as the audience award at the International Instrumental Competition in Markneukirchen in 2025.

Usberti studied with Roland Glassl and gained important orchestral and chamber music experiences as an academy member of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Broadcasting. From September 1, 2026, she will join the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Broadcasting as a principal violist. Her appearance in the Town Hall Festive Hall combines personal return, musical maturity, and the warm, characteristic timbre of the viola.

Virtuosic orchestration and symphonic timbres

Sergei Prokofiev enriches the program with a striking modern sound language. Precise synchronization, pointed rhythm, and contrasting instrumentation place high demands on the orchestra and conducting. In conjunction with Beethoven's dramatic architecture and Hoffmeister's classical elegance, an evening of diverse musical perspectives arises.

A concert experience in a historic hall

The Town Hall Festive Hall creates the perfect setting for this symphonic concert with its historic atmosphere. Amidst luminous string colors, powerful tutti, and solo moments, an intense live atmosphere develops, where the audience's mood directly interacts with the stage performance.
