Virtuoso Chamber Music in the Historical Town Hall Festive Hall
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, two outstanding musicians will meet in the Landshut Town Hall Festive Hall: the violinist Mikhail Pochekin and the pianist Michail Lifits will present a festive duo evening with great classical violin literature. The concert starts at 19:30.
Schubert, Poulenc, and Beethoven in Intense Dialogue
The program combines Franz Schubert's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major D 574, Francis Poulenc's Sonata for Violin and Piano FP 119, and Ludwig van Beethoven's famous Kreutzer Sonata. Three works from different periods showcase the full range of chamber music: Schubert's lyrical warmth, Poulenc's modern sound language, and Beethoven's dramatic energy.
Violin and Piano as Musical Conversation
Mikhail Pochekin represents an expressive violin tone, technical precision, and an immediate stage performance. His international concert activities have taken him to renowned orchestras and significant halls worldwide. His recording of Bach's six Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin has been praised by critics as an outstanding achievement.
Michail Lifits is among the sought-after pianists of his generation. The winner of the International Piano Competition Ferruccio Busoni has performed in the Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonic, among others. As a chamber musician, he combines pianistic brilliance with fine colorfulness and sovereign musical architecture.
Acoustics, Articulation, and Emotional Tension
In the duo, music arises from direct communication: a brief glance, a breathing phrase, a precisely placed accent. Schubert's broadly stretched melodies reveal their warmth, Poulenc's rhythmic contrasts take on sharp contours, and Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata escalates from focused dialogue to passionate stage performance.
The Town Hall Festive Hall on the first floor of the Landshut Town Hall offers a representative setting for this. Historical architecture, the splendid wooden ceiling, and the famous mural depicting the Landshut Wedding shape the festive live atmosphere. The central stage and the concert grand piano create ideal conditions for a transparent, nuanced sound.
An Evening Concert for Classical Music Lovers
The duo evening is geared towards all who wish to experience violin and piano in their most concentrated form. The programmatic journey from Schubert through Poulenc to Beethoven connects romantic sonority, French modernity, and classical form consciousness into a varied concert experience.
The audience can expect a high-caliber chamber music evening with virtuosic articulation, sensitive synchronization, and great emotional depth. Anyone wishing to experience the special proximity and audience atmosphere of a classical live concert should not miss this duo evening in the Town Hall Festive Hall.
