Baroque Christmas Splendor with the Court Orchestra Munich
When historical instruments, festive timbres, and the magnificent town hall Prunksaal come together, a Christmas concert with special brilliance is created. The Court Orchestra Munich presents a program between baroque elegance, virtuosic orchestral art, and festive Advent atmosphere on December 13, 2026, under the direction of Rüdiger Lotter.
Corelli's Christmas Concerto Opens the Evening
The evening begins with Arcangelo Corelli's famous Concerto fatto per la notte di Natale. The warm string sound of historical instruments imparts an immediate, chamber-music intensity to this music. In the town hall Prunksaal, the fine voices of the strings, the precise synchronization of the ensemble, and Rüdiger Lotter's nuanced conducting create a festive live atmosphere.
Baroque Sound Art with Bavarian Connection
The further program features works by Giovanni Platti, Johann Pachelbel, and Giuseppe Torelli, as well as a Concerto grosso by Georg Friedrich Händel. The selection combines virtuosic orchestration with composers closely linked to southern German and Bavarian music history. Here, stylistic clarity meets the lively stage performance of the exceptional musicians of the Court Orchestra Munich.
Vivaldi's Four Seasons as Highlight
The second part focuses on Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The famous Concerti depict nature scenes with rapid passages, lyrical adagio moments, and dramatic contrasts. Under Rüdiger Lotter's direction, a concert experience is created that makes the changing moods between winter chill, spring lightness, and summer energy immediately audible.
Music in the Historic Town Hall Prunksaal
The town hall Prunksaal provides the festive setting for this concert evening in Landshut's old town. The historical architecture supports the clear acoustics and makes every dynamic nuance of the ensemble audible. The audience can expect a stylish interpretation of baroque Christmas music, intense audience atmosphere, and an evening of concert full of splendor.
Conclusion: A Festive Concert Evening for the Advent Season
The Court Orchestra Munich combines Corelli, Händel, Platti, Pachelbel, Torelli, and Vivaldi into a varied Christmas program with historical instrumentation and high musical precision. Those who want to experience baroque music, festive atmosphere, and Vivaldi's famous Four Seasons live will find a delightful evening in the town hall Prunksaal for the pre-Christmas season.
