VR-Bank Landshut Arena | Parking & Seating Plan

The VR-Bank Landshut Arena at Gutenbergweg 32 is one of the most well-known sports and event venues in Lower Bavaria. Those looking for ice hockey in Landshut, for home games of EV Landshut, or for practical information such as parking, seating plan, and ticket categories will quickly find this arena with its long tradition and clear, modern orientation. The stadium was built at its current location on the banks of the Isar, later extensively renovated, and has been operated under the name VR-Bank Landshut Arena since June 2025. Today, it combines sporting identity, short distances within the stadium, and a clear visitor experience with a capacity of 4,448 seats, including 1,909 seats. For fans, guests, and event visitors, the arena is not just a place to play, but a defining piece of Landshut's sports history. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

The search queries surrounding this location clearly show what visitors pay particular attention to: They want to know how to get there, where to park, what seats are available, how the stadium plan is structured, and what games or tournaments are taking place in the arena. The VR-Bank Landshut Arena answers these questions with clear visitor information, a detailed ticket area, and an offering that ranges from home games of EV Landshut to international competitions. The arena is thus interesting for both die-hard ice hockey fans and event visitors looking for a central, well-organized, and regionally anchored location in Landshut. Parking and Access to the VR-Bank Landshut Arena

When it comes to parking, the most important information is clear: Directly at the arena, capacities are limited, which is why EV Landshut explicitly recommends the free parking spaces on Grieserwiese in Wittstraße. From there, the footpath over the Isar Bridge takes only about 3 to 5 minutes to reach the arena. This solution is particularly practical because it is less stressful than searching for a direct parking space at the stadium and simultaneously offers a good start to the evening. Those who arrive early can take their time walking, get to know the stadium surroundings, and reach the entrances without haste. For home games and larger tournaments, this is the most reliable option. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

The official directions also show that the arena is very well integrated into the city's road network. From Munich, the route leads via the A92 and B11 towards Landshut city center; from other directions, Wittstraße or B15 is mentioned as orientation. The crucial point is that visitors ultimately divert to Grieserwiese and park there instead of hoping for a parking space directly at the stadium. Thus, while the arena is centrally located, it is deliberately organized so that visitor flow is managed through a few clear points. This fits with a stadium that regularly attracts a large audience and requires an orderly arrival for home games or international tournaments. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

Especially for fans visiting the VR-Bank Landshut Arena for the first time, this clear parking logic is a real advantage. Instead of a complicated search for a parking garage or confusing side streets, there is a clear standard route: head for Grieserwiese, park, walk over the Isar Bridge, and reach the arena. Those arriving early also have time for a relaxed snack, for ticket checks, or to observe the atmosphere before the game. Since the arena is located on Gutenbergweg and the site has stood for ice hockey for decades, the journey to Landshut has long become part of the fan experience. For SEO searches like parking, access, or parking lot, this practical tip is particularly relevant. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

Capacity, Seating Plan, and Ticket Categories

The VR-Bank Landshut Arena offers 4,448 seats, including 1,909 seats. This number is important for fans because it directly shows the scale of the stadium and how compact the spectator experience remains. The arena is large enough for atmospheric ice hockey evenings and simultaneously small enough to create a sense of closeness to the action. The official ticket area of EV Landshut clearly distinguishes between different categories: Upper tier seating, seating, upper tier standing, standing, gastro seating, and wheelchair users. It is also important for guests that the guest area is located in Block L and that a detailed stadium plan with block division is available. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

This structure makes the arena very transparent. Those who prefer a specific viewpoint can orient themselves through the categories; those seeking a particularly intense atmosphere pay more attention to standing places or proximity to the ice. Those who value comfort look at the seating areas. Especially for search queries about the seating plan or the best seats, this is a central advantage: The arena does not work with an unclear, generic hall model, but with a clear, sporting classification that directly fits ice hockey. This significantly facilitates ticket selection, especially when games sell out quickly or when derby atmosphere is expected. The stadium plan is therefore not just a technical detail but a practical tool for any visit planning. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/ticketshop/hauptrunde/))

For ticket buyers, EV Landshut also offers a very direct structure. Single tickets are available online through the official ticket shop, as well as season tickets with digital delivery or collection at the office. On game days, purchases are also possible on-site starting two hours before the game, although with an evening box surcharge. This is helpful for last-minute decisions but also shows that the club clearly prefers online purchases and aims to make the process as efficient as possible. Those who know the seating plan and book early have the best chances of getting the desired seat for the sought-after games. That is why search terms like tickets, seating plan, and capacity are closely linked for this location. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/ticketshop/))

The pricing structure is also relevant for many visitors because it makes the categories understandable. On the main round page, the different areas are presented with clear prices, allowing regular payers, reduced rates, disabled persons, and children to quickly orient themselves. The detailed structure helps not only in planning individual games but also in recurring visits during the season. Especially in a stadium that is regularly well attended, easy orientation in the ticket area counts. Thus, those searching for a clear seating plan, block information, or specific ticket categories will find in the VR-Bank Landshut Arena a system designed for clarity and quick understanding. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/ticketshop/hauptrunde/))

EV Landshut, Schedule, and Home Game Experience

The VR-Bank Landshut Arena is primarily the home of EV Landshut, and this shapes the character of the place. On the official schedule page, home games, away games, tables, and statistics are bundled together, allowing fans to easily follow their season and individual matches. The ticket shop also distinguishes between preparation, main round, and possible playoff games. This shows that the arena is not only thought of statically as a building but as an active center of ongoing game operations. Those searching for the EV Landshut schedule or home games are often actually looking for this regular, emotional stadium rhythm that makes the location on Gutenbergweg so important. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/spielplan/))

For visitors, the combination of sport and atmosphere is particularly attractive. The official communication of the club emphasizes the incomparable backdrop and the captivating atmosphere at home games. This is not just marketing but fits the role of the arena as a sports meeting point for the city. Ice hockey thrives on closeness, noise, speed, and quick reactions from the audience; exactly for this, the VR-Bank Landshut Arena was built and renovated. The fact that the schedule page currently also documents playoff matches shows how well the stadium performs in competition mode. Those planning a visit can adjust to the current season structure through official channels and quickly recognize that here is not just a place but a real venue with recurring excitement. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/spielplan/))

Particularly interesting for nationwide attention is the role of the arena in the Deutschland Cup. Landshut was the host of this tournament for the third consecutive time in 2025, featuring parallel women's and men's competitions. According to EV Landshut, a total of twelve international matches were scheduled over five tournament days, and the city recorded more than 20,000 visitors in both previous years. This shows that the arena functions not only for regional home games but also for high-profile international events. For search queries like Deutschland Cup 2025 or program in the arena, this fact is particularly important: The location is capable of successfully hosting large tournament formats both sportingly and organizationally. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/news/dritte-auflage-der-erfolgsstory-deutschland-cup-erneut-zu-gast-in-landshut/))

The involvement of fans, volunteers, and the entire city also plays a significant role. In the official statements, Landshut is described as an ice hockey stronghold with ideal infrastructure, and this combination of club commitment, spectator interest, and a functioning stadium makes the arena so special. Therefore, attending a home game of EV Landshut means experiencing not just a single match but a grown local sports culture. This also explains why the EV Landshut ticket shop answers so many questions about season tickets, categories, and game days: The stadium is not a casual event venue but the center of a strongly identity-forming game operation. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/ticketshop/))

History, Renovation, and Name Change

The history of the VR-Bank Landshut Arena goes back a long way. The foundation stone for the artificial ice stadium was laid at its current location on Gutenbergweg in 1957. In the 1980s, a renovation followed, during which the stadium was expanded to become the state performance center for ice hockey of the Bavarian Ice Sports Association, including a second ice surface. This development shows that the location has been sportingly upgraded for decades and did not gain significance only with the new name. This is crucial for the identity of the location: The arena is modern, but it stands on a very long sports historical foundation. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

The next major step came in 2019 when the renovation of the ice stadium was decided. The total renovation cost 22.5 million euros and was completed in October 2021. The club describes the stadium after the renovation as highly modern, with a clear, puristic concept, short distances, and high demands on refrigeration technology, energy efficiency, and safety. On October 31, 2021, EV Landshut took to the ice for the first time in the new stadium. These are not cosmetic details but the basis for the arena to operate today at a modern standard both sportingly and organizationally. Therefore, those searching for the location are not just looking for an old stadium with a new sign but a comprehensively renewed ice hockey environment. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

In June 2025, the name change to VR-Bank Landshut Arena followed. The VR-Bank Landshut confirmed in its press release that as of June 1, 2025, the ice stadium on Gutenbergweg will bear this new name. With this renaming, the search for a main sponsor ends, and at the same time, the regional connection is further emphasized. The bank describes itself as a local cooperative bank closely connected to the region and its people, and EV Landshut emphasizes the new partnership as an important step for the club and location. For search terms like name, history, or new stadium, this timing is central because it explains why the former term ice stadium on Gutenbergweg is now officially replaced by the arena designation. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

It is also remarkable how consistently the renovation and the naming work together. The new logo was developed with regard to the existing color concept to fit harmoniously into the stadium world, and at the same time, the actual function of the house remains at the center: ice hockey, events, and regional identity. The development from 1957 through the 1980s to 2025 shows a clear line. The VR-Bank Landshut Arena is therefore not just a current search term but the result of a long history that has shaped Landshut as an ice hockey location. This connection between past and present makes the location so interesting for visitors, fans, and event guests. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

Facilities, Cashless Payment, and Stadium Rules

A significant advantage for visitors is the clear organization in the stadium's daily operations. The VR-Bank Landshut Arena is a cashless stadium, and at all kiosks and in the fan shop, payment is only possible with debit or credit cards. This ensures a faster process, shorter waiting times, and a modern visitor experience. Especially during busier games or tournaments, this rule is a practical plus because payment transactions become simpler. Therefore, those searching for cashless, cash register, or food and drinks in the arena should know: Card payment is the standard here. This fits the renewed, modern character of the house and a stadium focused on efficiency. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

The behavioral rules are also clear. There is a strict smoking ban in the arena. Additionally, numerous items are not allowed, including weapons and weapon-like objects, gas pressure horns, corrosive or coloring substances, glass containers, bottles, jugs, cans, pyrotechnics, poles, umbrellas, electric noise instruments, laser pointers, flashlights, megaphones, and professional video and photographic equipment without accreditation. This list is long but serves a very practical purpose: safety, order, and smooth entry are priorities. Therefore, those visiting the arena should familiarize themselves with the stadium rules early to avoid delays at the entrance. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/stadionbesuch/))

The interplay of facilities and visitor comfort is also noteworthy. The club describes the stadium as clearly structured, with short distances and modern technology. This means for guests: They find their way around faster, reach the most important points without detours, and experience a stadium that does not rely on unnecessary complexity. Additionally, the official ticket and stadium pages provide clear orientation regarding categories, entrances, and seating areas. Thus, those visiting the arena for the first time benefit from an infrastructure designed for transparency. This is particularly important for families, season ticket holders, and groups as it makes the entire stay more pleasant and predictable. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

For special occasions, the technical and spatial facilities are also relevant. The VR-Bank Landshut Arena meets the highest requirements for energy efficiency, refrigeration technology, and safety according to official statements. This explains why the stadium is considered a high-quality event venue not only sportingly but also infrastructurally. Even if visitors primarily search for tickets, parking, or seating, there is a very consciously modernized overall concept behind it. In practice, this means: fewer friction losses, more orientation, and a stadium experience that focuses on the game and the event character. This mix is crucial for the external perception of the arena. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

Deutschland Cup, VIP Room, and Special Events

The VR-Bank Landshut Arena is not limited to home games but is also suitable for special events. A central example is the Deutschland Cup, which was again held in Landshut in 2025. The tournament brought both women's and men's competitions to the city and confirmed the arena as a reliable venue for international ice hockey. According to EV Landshut, this repeated allocation is a vote of confidence in the arena's infrastructure and the organization on-site. For visitors searching for events, programs, or special days in the arena, this is a strong signal: Not only club games take place here, but also regionally relevant competitions. ([evl.info](https://www.evl.info/news/dritte-auflage-der-erfolgsstory-deutschland-cup-erneut-zu-gast-in-landshut/))

Another highlight is the VIP room, which EV Landshut continues to rent for events. According to the press release, this room can be used for events with up to 280 people. This makes it clear that the arena also functions as an event location outside the classic game operations. Whether corporate event, reception, or special format: the location provides a suitable setting for it. Particularly interesting is that the arena remains flexible despite its sporting orientation and is not reduced to ice hockey operations. Therefore, those searching for an event location in Landshut will find here a combination of regional appeal, modern infrastructure, and already established event experience. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

The official statements regarding the cooperation between the bank, club, and city also show that the arena is understood as a regional project. The naming partnership is described as a sign of community, commitment, and future for the region. This is more than a sponsorship hint: it explains why the arena has firmly established itself in Landshut and why it is repeatedly chosen for special tasks. The anniversary show of VR-Bank Landshut was also held in the stadium and made clear that the place can quickly be transformed into an event arena when needed. This adaptability is an important argument for visitors, organizers, and fans alike. ([vrla.de](https://www.vrla.de/wir-fuer-sie/presse/pressemitteilung/VR-BankLandshutArena.html))

For SEO and user intent, this point is particularly valuable because search queries about programs, photos, reviews, or Deutschland Cup often express different expectations. The VR-Bank Landshut Arena caters to this range: it is a sports venue, event space, meeting point for fans, and a place with regional history. The combination of home games of EV Landshut, international tournaments, and bookable rooms makes the location versatile and distinctive. Therefore, those looking for an arena with a clear ice hockey identity and genuine event capability will find here a well-documented location with strong public perception. Even if visitors primarily search for tickets, parking, or seating, there is a very consciously modernized overall concept behind it. According to EV Landshut, this repeated allocation is a vote of confidence in the arena's infrastructure and the organization on-site. For visitors searching for events, programs, or special days in the arena, this is a strong signal: Not only club games take place here, but also regionally relevant competitions.

Had an excellent experience here. We went to watch a hockey game which was very fun. You can also go ice skating here which is also nice. They have plenty of bathrooms around the place and a vending machine to get hot coffee or snacks.

Plenty of parking. Not too many people skating and very good entrance prices. Free lockers. If needed rental skates are available.
