A Very Hot Number: Bavarian Comedy with Heart and Cheeky Wit
When financial worries meet courage, friendship, and an unusual business idea, an evening of theater full of pointed dialogues, Bavarian life closeness, and surprising twists begins in the Salzstadel Landshut. On March 25, 2027, Andrea Sixt's comedy A Very Hot Number will be performed for the first time in this stage version in Landshut.
Three Women, a Shop, and a Daring Idea
At the center are three women from the Bavarian Forest whose grocery store is on the verge of closing. Afraid of unemployment, they develop a plan that is both risky and inventive: a telephone sex hotline to save their threatened existence. Amidst moral concerns, growing self-confidence, and curious glances from the village community, a comedy unfolds that charmingly tests societal conventions.
Pointed Dramaturgy and Strong Female Roles
Andrea Sixt combines turbulent situational comedy with a close look at social dependencies, economic pressure, and female self-assertion in her stage version. The dramaturgy thrives on the transition between rapid entanglements, sharply set punchlines, and moments where an initial need evolves into a new sense of freedom. The four female roles give the production a powerful center.
Landshut Stage Art in the Historic Salzstadel
Director Thomas Ecker guides Ina Lehmann, Johanna Schickl, Lena Lackermeier, and Gaby Butz through this humorous theater evening. In the historic Salzstadel, with its distinctive brick facade and special event hall, Bavarian color meets vibrant acting. The intimate atmosphere of the venue creates closeness to the stage while light, acoustics, and quick dialogue changes carry the comedic rhythm.
From Bestseller to Stage Success
A Very Hot Number became known as a novel, film, and play. The stage version by Andrea Sixt is listed as a speaking theater comedy at Drei Masken Verlag and is performed nationwide in Germany. Its mix of village comedy, social satire, and warm-hearted character depiction ensures a stage experience that combines laughter with a surprisingly human perspective on the life realities of its characters.
Conclusion: An Evening of Theater with Tempo, Heart, and Bavarian Humor
The audience can expect an entertaining production with strong actresses, pointed dialogue direction, and a story about solidarity, courage, and breaking free from entrenched role models. Those who love Bavarian comedies, precise acting, and atmospheric theater will experience an evening full of situational comedy and human warmth in the Salzstadel.
