Standing Still and Moving On: An Ecumenical Pilgrimage on the Francis Way
A journey can become a spiritual experience when people share their steps, questions, and faith perspectives with each other. On November 23, 2026, Fred Haller, Richard Stieglbauer, and Peter Wolfrum invite you to an evening about pilgrimage, spirituality, and ecumenical community at the Salzstadel in Landshut.
Three Authors, Three Confessions, One Common Path
At the center is the pilgrimage walk on the Francis Way from Gubbio to Spoleto. As free church members, Catholics, and Protestants, the three authors bring different perspectives together. Their narratives connect personal experiences, religious reflections, and the search for common paths in faith.
Reading, Lecture, and Impressive Images
Selected reading passages from the book Standing Still and Moving On bring the stages of the pilgrimage journey to life. A video excerpt of a lecture by Professor Heinrich Bedford-Strohm on ecumenism, a photo presentation, and deepening faith topics open space for reflection and exchange.
Music and Encounter at the Salzstadel
Pianist Martin Wolfrum musically accompanies the evening. Between words, images, and sounds, a calm, open atmosphere emerges in which personal paths, prayer, community, and Christian spirituality come into conversation with one another. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to ask the authors questions and share personal thoughts.
An Evening in the Context of the Landshut Literature Days
The event takes place as part of the 23rd Landshut Literature Days under the theme longing. It is aimed at people interested in pilgrimage paths, Franciscan spirituality, ecumenical dialogue, and religious encounters. The box office opens at 6:00 PM, and the event starts at 6:30 PM.
Experience an inspiring evening of literature, music, and faith conversation. Let yourself be touched by the experiences of the pilgrimage walk and discover new perspectives on your own path through shared exchange.
