Architect Tours 2026: Bavarian Architectural Culture in the Landshut Town Hall Foyer

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Architect Tours, the traveling exhibition of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects invites visitors to a concentrated examination of contemporary architecture. Approximately 60 selected projects will be presented in the Landshut Town Hall foyer, showcasing the diversity and quality of planning work in Bavaria. Admission is free.

Architecture as Public Culture

Architect Tours views architecture as a societal task and cultural practice. The exhibition brings together examples from architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and urban planning. The focus is on realized projects, whose spatial ideas, materials, and design decisions become understandable through exhibition panels.

The Focus is on Lower Bavaria

The presentation in Landshut particularly emphasizes Lower Bavaria. This regional selection is complemented by outstanding and awarded projects from all over Bavaria. Thus, a multifaceted overview of different building typologies, scales, and strategies of contemporary planning is created.

Examination of Works between Image, Plan, and Spatial Idea

Photographs, plans, and explanatory texts provide access to the presented buildings. The exhibition makes visible how light, proportion, materiality, and use interact. Architecture does not appear as an isolated object but as a shaping force for everyday life, public spaces, and quality of life.

Cultural Education and Aesthetic Experience

The Architect Tours promote dialogue about the built environment and quality design. Visitors receive impulses for a conscious perception of urban spaces, interiors, and landscapes. Particularly, the connection between professional classification and illustrative presentation makes the exhibition an informative art experience for architecture enthusiasts and culture-loving guests.
