Berlin Philharmonic brings New Year's magic live to Kinopolis Landshut

As the year 2026 comes to an end, the KINOPOLIS Landshut transforms into a concert hall: The New Year's concert of the Berlin Philharmonic comes live to the big cinema screen. Kirill Petrenko conducts a program filled with wit, elegance, and musical surprises – a festive concert experience for classical music fans and anyone who wants to start the new year with extraordinary sound.

Musical Humor with Kirill Petrenko

The Berlin Philharmonic bids farewell to the year with a program that playfully breaks classical forms. Sergei Prokofiev's Classical Symphony virtuously plays with the traditions of Haydn and Mozart. In Dmitri Shostakovich's concerto for piano, trumpet, and string orchestra, the concert genre itself becomes humorous material.

Alexander Malofeev and David Guerrier as Solists

On piano, Alexander Malofeev can be seen, making his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic in this concert. Together with solo trumpeter David Guerrier, a colorful interplay emerges from precise synchronization, brilliant articulation, and pointed musical dialogue.

From Prokofiev to Richard Strauss

The program combines spirited overtures by Otto Nicolai and Johann Strauss II with the orchestral fantasy of Richard Strauss. In Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, the orchestra portrays the famous rogue with sharp contrasts, danceable energy, and sparkling timbres. The orchestration makes every musical punch line palpable on the cinema screen.

Live Atmosphere in the Cinema Seat

Large-format images, powerful concert sound, and the focused audience atmosphere make the transmission a special end to the year. Kinopolis provides a comfortable setting to experience the stage performance of Kirill Petrenko and the Berlin Philharmonic up close – with clear acoustics, impressive close-ups, and festive atmosphere.

Conclusion: Classical Music with Wit and Grandeur

The New Year's concert 2026 combines musical mastery with irony, tempo, and festive brilliance. Those who want to experience the New Year with the Berlin Philharmonic, Kirill Petrenko, Alexander Malofeev, and Richard Strauss should secure their place at KINOPOLIS Landshut and experience great orchestral art live in cinema.
