vhs Landshut | Program 2026 & Courses

The vhs Landshut is the central address for lifelong learning in the Landshut old town. At the location Ländgasse 41, citizens can find a versatile and current course program in the areas of languages and integration, health and nursing training, arts and culture, professional and IT training, basic and school education, as well as online offerings. The location in the middle of the old town makes visiting particularly convenient, the connection to public transport is close, and several parking options are just a few minutes' walk away. The building is accessible, and the room and building overviews show a variety of well-equipped classrooms – from the teaching kitchen to the sewing room and the gym to the lecture hall. Registration is flexible: online, by phone, via email, or in person – with service hours tailored to the needs of visitors. In 2026, the vhs Landshut will continue to focus on language teaching, health offerings such as yoga, creative courses like sewing, and practical vocational training. Those planning exams will benefit from the fact that the naturalization test and telc exams can take place directly at the vhs on site.

Program 2026 and Course Offerings of vhs Landshut

The program year 2026 of vhs Landshut covers the entire spectrum of modern adult education. Already on the homepage, there is a clear structure into program areas: Culture & Music, Society, Health & Nursing Courses, Profession & IT, Languages & Integration, Basic & School Education, Online Learning, as well as vocational schools for nursing and foreign language professions. The event calendar lists the courses month by month, including start dates, weekdays, times, and booking status. From the calendar March to July 2026, exemplary courses such as General English Review at C1 level, language modules in German from A1 to C1, a full moon meditation as a health format, Excel complete on Saturdays, Yogilates, and creative workshops are highlighted. In addition to regular courses, vhs Landshut offers extra events and a semester theme; for example, the 2nd Landshut Crime Days will take place from the end of February to the end of March 2026, including readings and discussions in the city and the house. Those who prefer to learn compactly and independently of location can use online learning formats that are conducted live and interactively; the vhs points out common platforms and participation requirements such as a stable internet connection, camera, and microphone. For all interested parties, the paths to course selection are short: The extended course search allows filtering by location (e.g., vhs house), weekday, and time of day, and new offerings are marked separately. It is practical that many course pages specify the exact room with number and address – such as the vhs kitchen with room designation 004, the gym 016, or the lecture hall for exams and presentations. This allows planning in advance what materials to bring and how long the paths within the house are. The service hours of the office – Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday from 8 am to 12:30 pm, adjusted during holidays – ensure that on-site consultation and telephone inquiries remain reliably accessible. In the program area Profession & IT, Xpert Business modules, Microsoft Office trainings, or vocational language courses are also available, making the vhs attractive for people in qualification or professional reorientation.

German Courses, Integration Courses, and Naturalization Test: Registration, Exams, Rooms

In 2026, German courses and exam offerings are particularly in demand. The vhs Landshut conducts German as a foreign language in successive modules – from the beginner level A1 to courses at C1 level. In integration support, the German test for immigrants (DTZ A2/B1) and preparatory training for telc exams (A2/B1, B2, C1) are part of the fixed offerings. Exams are scheduled regularly in the vhs lecture hall; the exam page lists the specific dates with times, exam formats, and the respective designated room. Formal steps must be observed for participation in exams: Registration is only possible in person in the language & integration department and requires a valid ID card or passport. The exam fee must be paid in cash at the time of registration. Those unsure about which course level is suitable can find placement tests and a level guide overview on the language & integration overview page. The department offices also have their own service and consultation hours: Tuesday 8 am–12 pm and 1 pm–5 pm, Wednesday to Friday 8 am–12 pm; closed on Mondays. In the course list for spring 2026, in addition to naturalization test dates, exam preparations and German modules are listed – from beginner course A1 to B2 deepening in the morning or afternoon and C1 courses in the evening. Those wishing to improve their career prospects can also find job-related German courses. Thanks to the room and building overview, orientation is easy: Events can take place in the main building Ländgasse 41, but also at the additional locations Altstadt 216 and Altstadt 217. The room overview lists many rooms in the vhs house with numbers and uses, including a care room (room 214) for training practice, music rooms (rooms 205–207) for instrumental lessons, an atelier (room 215), the teaching kitchen (room U04/004) for cooking courses, the gym (room 016) for health courses, and the lecture hall for exams and presentations. Additionally, the main building is accessible according to the building overview; this is particularly important for exams and participants with mobility restrictions. Tip: Since exams have limited places and can fill up quickly, early personal registration is recommended. As with all vhs offerings, attendance at events is only possible with prior registration and confirmation of registration.

Learning Languages 2026: English Courses, Italian, Spanish – Levels, Consultation, and Examples

Languages & Integration is one of the largest program areas of vhs Landshut. In 2026, English, Italian, and Spanish will be offered in various formats and levels – from beginner courses to conversation and repetition courses. In spring 2026, for example, a General English Review at C1 level is listed, specifically targeting advanced learners. Italian is available as evening and morning courses, including intermediate courses A1 to A2 with information on course leadership, location, and utilized room (e.g., rooms marked vhs 227 or vhs 121 in Ländgasse 41 and Altstadt 216). For Italian conversation at A2/B1 level, specific practice settings are provided that emphasize speaking and listening comprehension. Spanish is planned in 2026, among other things, in an intensive beginner format without prior knowledge, which addresses job-related and everyday communication situations. In addition to the face-to-face offerings, the language pages also refer to online placement tests; registration for language courses is possible digitally, by phone, or in person, and there is also a separate contact address for corporate clients. The vhs foreign language school complements the portfolio in the educational sector: The state-recognized vocational school for foreign language professions trains to become a state-certified foreign language correspondent. For those interested in vocational language training, the further school website is directly linked. Designated rooms and accessibility make course logistics transparent; many course pages explicitly name the room IDs and addresses, allowing learners to plan whether to attend courses in the main building or in the old town branches. Practical information such as required textbooks is directly mentioned on the respective course page; in some formats, the teaching material is coordinated within the group. The course lists also reflect the status – such as registration possible, almost fully booked, or waiting list. This helps secure a spot in time. Those starting linguistically anew or wishing to repeat a level can use the consultation and placement; this ensures the level is appropriate and learning motivation remains high.

Health & Yoga as well as Cooking Courses: Rooms, Equipment, and Course Examples from 2025/2026

In the area of health and nutrition, vhs Landshut is also broadly positioned in 2025/2026. Examples: Power Yoga – for everyone took place in January 2026 in the gym room Zi. 016 on several Thursdays; Hatha and Yin Yoga formats complement the spectrum and are tailored to different training levels. Course pages describe objectives, processes (e.g., a combination of training and relaxation), required equipment such as comfortable clothing or a personal mat, as well as course leadership. For all who want to cook enjoyably and healthily, the teaching kitchen Zi. 004 in the vhs house is a plus. Here, workshops such as Cook & Meet – the introductory and gourmet cooking course or Mediterranean cuisine took place and are planned; in 2026, an evening on the topic Plant-Based & Protein-Rich – Cooking & Baking is scheduled, including material notes (apron, leftover containers) and information on course fees and duration. The course pages regularly inform whether online registration is possible, whether waiting lists exist, or whether a phone inquiry is advisable when internet bookings are closed. In addition to face-to-face courses, the vhs refers to online offerings: Cooking and creative formats can be cooked at home, with the platforms mentioned in the respective offering. The content of the health and cooking courses focuses on practical everyday applications – such as balanced nutrition, anti-inflammatory cooking, or regional classics in new interpretations. The clear naming of rooms by the vhs facilitates planning: Those booked in the kitchen 004 know that ingredient lists, hygiene, and equipment are organized on site. In health formats in the gym room 016, there is enough space planned for mats and movements. Experience shows that early registration is worthwhile because compact weekend or evening formats fill up quickly. In the area of nursing training, the vhs also offers professional further training; in addition, the state-recognized nursing school with generalist training (3 years), shortened form (2 years), and nursing assistance (1 year) is part of the portfolio, managed through its own nursing school website and reachable through vhs contacts.

Sewing, Creative Design, and Music: Sewing Room 003, Atelier 215, Music Rooms, and Registration

Creative courses are a recurring highlight at vhs Landshut. The sewing room Zi. 003 in the vhs house allows practical beginner and advanced offerings. In previous semesters, courses included sewing for beginners without prior knowledge, sewing on Tuesday mornings, or thematic workshops such as bags for every occasion. The course pages detail what materials to bring – for example, good fabric scissors, pins, measuring tape, thimble – and name the course leadership. The precise room information helps with preparation, especially when bringing one's own sewing machine or accessories. Additionally, the atelier Zi. 215 provides space for painting, drawing, and three-dimensional design; creative watercolor workshops and drawing courses can be found in the calendar. Musically interested individuals benefit from designated music rooms (Zi. 205–207) and a piano room (Zi. 119), which can be used for instrumental lessons and vocal training. For parents and children, depending on the semester, formats exist in the target group areas 55plus and children youth family; topics such as children's birthday or holiday programs appear as separate categories. Those who decide on a course can use flexible registration: online, by phone, via email, or in person. According to the vhs's terms and conditions, registration is considered binding upon acceptance by the vhs; participation is only possible with prior confirmation of registration. Fees are due upon contract conclusion; on-site cash and EC payments are possible, while online, phone, and written registrations usually involve SEPA direct debit. The terms and conditions also regulate the holiday policy (courses generally do not run during Bavarian school holidays unless explicitly stated otherwise), minimum participant numbers, course cancellations for important reasons, and the issuance of participation certificates after regular attendance. Those looking for gift ideas can purchase vhs vouchers, which can be redeemed within three years; possession of a voucher does not replace timely booking if a course is already fully booked. The combination of clear structures, well-equipped rooms, and experienced course leadership makes the creative formats of vhs Landshut particularly accessible – whether for first stitches, ambitious projects, or discovering new talents.

Directions, Parking, and Accessibility: How to Reach vhs Landshut

The vhs Landshut is located at Ländgasse 41, in the heart of the old town. The main building is accessible according to the building overview; many rooms in the room overview are also marked as accessible. A special feature is the location in an inner-city, partly traffic-calmed environment: Direct parking on the vhs parking lot is not possible; the terms and conditions explicitly point this out. Good alternatives are the municipal parking garages and parking spaces near the old town. The parking garage Altstadt/Zentrum on the Mühleninsel (address: Badstraße 1) offers short walking distances over the Isar into the old town, from there it is just a few minutes to Ländgasse. The parking garage at Wittstraße near the Oberpaur department store is also nearby; furthermore, the Grieserwiese offers a large number of marked parking spaces that are listed in the municipal parking guidance system. The municipal overview page Parking Options provides information on parking garages, short-term regulations, and notes that may change occasionally (e.g., during events). Traveling by public transport is also uncomplicated: In the old town, the frequently used stops Postplatz and Altstadt are located nearby; depending on the event in the city center, buses may be temporarily diverted, with current deviations informed by the city of Landshut and the municipal utilities. For walking routes: Ländgasse and Altstadt run close together and meet again in the southern area; this facilitates orientation and route guidance to the vhs locations Ländgasse 41 and the branches Altstadt 216/217. Those attending exams or important registration deadlines should plan a little time reserve due to the parking situation. Tip: If there are uncertainties about the accessibility of a specific room, it is worth taking a look at the room overview or making a short inquiry at the office. The combination of a central location, accessible access, and a dense parking and bus network makes the visit planable – even during peak times in the city center.

Career, Instructors, and Service: Job Offers, Teaching Positions, Nursing School & Foreign Language School

The vhs Landshut is not only a place of learning but also an employer and cooperation partner. On the job offers page, current postings for administration and vocational schools, as well as information on unsolicited applications, are published. Applications should be submitted as a single PDF file to the specified address or sent via the online form. There is specific information for freelance teaching positions; the vhs describes the profile, fields of application, and contact methods. The educational network is complemented by vocational schools: The state-recognized nursing school of vhs Landshut offers generalist training for nursing professionals (regularly in 3 years, shortened in 2 years) as well as one-year nursing assistance. Learning locations and practical components are organized according to the guidelines of the government of Lower Bavaria; contact points and application paths are linked. The foreign language school of the vhs trains to become a state-certified foreign language correspondent, also with its own website for details on admission, subjects, and internships. Those wishing to apply as course leaders benefit from the clear room and building infrastructure of the vhs: The piano room (Zi. 119), the music rooms (Zi. 205–207), the care room (Zi. 214), the atelier (Zi. 215), the teaching kitchen (Zi. 004), the gym (Zi. 016), and other rooms with accessible access allow for didactically sensible planning and conducting of lessons. For learners, the service culture is tangible: The office maintains extensive service hours, and the language & integration department has additional office hours. The terms and conditions transparently regulate registration, payment (including SEPA direct debit for online/phone/written registrations), withdrawal, minimum participant numbers, and reasons for cancellation. Those needing support at the start of a course can use the consultation; in addition, newsletters, voucher offers, and links to learning portals such as vhs.cloud or the vhs learning portal are available. Important to know: The vhs Landshut (city) and the vhs Landshuter Land (district) are organizationally separate; both institutions cooperate in the region but have their own teams, locations, and program pages. For courses at the location Ländgasse 41, vhs Landshut is the right contact.

I had the worst experience with VHS Landshut, rude and aggressive treatment, for no reason! I just wanted to ask if there is a B2 course and when! The employees there just wanted to fight.. and yes, of course too much misleading information on the phone.

I found the VHS Landshut to be a very dedicated and professionally run educational institution. The course selection is diverse – from languages and health to technology and professional development, everything is included. The lecturers are competent, friendly, and motivated; learning here is truly enjoyable. I particularly like the fact that modern topics and practical content are also taught – that's not something you can take for granted. The organization runs smoothly, the facilities are clean and well-equipped. The interaction among participants is pleasant and respectful. I can recommend the VHS Landshut to anyone who wants to develop further – whether personally or professionally. A great place for lifelong learning!

The woman at the registration desk for the German exam, room 202, was very rude. I will choose a different adult education center. Update: Based on what you wrote, it's essentially confirmed that your behavior was perceived as rude—if only because you immediately knew what it was about without any further explanation. I'm quite understanding of many things, but in this case, a factual response would have been appropriate instead of reacting angrily.

I was able to get into the course very quickly. I registered in May, but via email, and in June I took the test and was immediately accepted. I've been studying for five months with no German. The teacher is highly qualified. The staff is friendly. My fellow course members are fantastic (even though we're all from different countries).
